| With the advent of 5G era in 2019 and the upgrading of Internet products, handheld electronic communication devices have become increasingly popular in people’s lives.Due to the portability and functionality of smart phones, more and more people become dependent on smart phones and spend a lot of time on mobile phone operation every day.In terms of mobile phone operation, people will choose appropriate operation posture according to the diversity of use scenarios.Based on previous studies, this study explores the operational performance under different conditions.Through this study,we hope to find out the factors that affect the operation performance of single-hand mobile phone,so as to put forward targeted Suggestions to help people effectively improve the operation performance and improve people’s work efficiency. This study was conducted by a combination of questionnaire and experiment.Research one through the questionnaire to understand the current user’s mobile phone use situation and use habits;Study 2 explored the differences of mobile phone operation performance under different operating postures. It was designed as an experiment in subjects with single factor(mobile phone operation gesture: two-handed thumb/onehanded thumb/one-hand index finger).Study 3 adopted a hybrid experiment design of 3(hand size: large/medium/small)×2(cell phone size: 4.8 in / 5.5 in)×2(icon size: 24×24 px/48×48 px).The results show that :(1)Different gestures have a significant impact on user performance and user experience.(2)The size of the user’s hand, the size of the phone and the size of the icon have a significant impact on the operation performance of the phone held in one hand.(3)In terms of program time, the interaction between icon size and user hand size is significant. For users with large, medium and small hands, the impact of icon size is significant, while the difference of user hand size is significant only in the case of large icons. There is also an interaction between phone size and icon size. For large icons on the same phone, less time was spent on smaller icons, while for icons of a specified size, less time was spent on a 4.7-inch phone than on a 5.5-inch phone.(4)In terms of the number of hits, there is a significant interaction between the size of the mobile phone and the size of the user’s hand.Small-hand users get more hits with 4.7-inch phones than 5.5-inch phones, and large-hand users get the most hits with 5-inch phones.Research conclusions:(1)Nowadays,users are more likely to buy mobile phones with 5.0in or above screen.One-handed operation is the most common operation gesture used by users in real life situations.(2)Compared with the gesture of two-handed thumb and one-hand index finger, the operation performance and user satisfaction are the lowest, while the user fatigue is the highest;(3)Users with large hands in one hand have better operation performance and user experience than those with small hands.Compared with small-screen phones, the operation performance and user experience of large-screen phones are worse. The performance of large icons is higher than that of small icons, and the user experience is better.(4)The research results can clearly suggest that users should not blindly follow the trend of "big screen" when buying mobile phones, and should balance the demand for mobile phone functions according to their own hand shape,so as to select the right user’s own smart phone and improve work efficiency. |
