Now,under the background of the economic downturn of Europe and the United States and other major exporting countries,which was affected by international financial crisis and Europe debt crisis,we are in urgent need to solve the problem of how to play domestic demand,especially consumer demand to pull effect on the economy.As for the goal of expanding domestic consumption demand,developing the consumer credit is no doubt a very effective way.In one sense,consumer credit can not only provide credits for consumers who have consumption demand but do not have the ability to pay,but also can alleviate the consumers' liquidity constraints,reduce the precautionary savings caused by uncertainty,in order to liberate consumers from the bondage of monetary accumulation and directly increase the consumer demand.In another sense,consumer credit can also increase the consumer demand by three indirect means of influence on the real estate market caused by the personal housing loan market in the consumer credit,monetary policy in the tool of consumer credit,and the improvement of bank's management structure and assets structure.Meanwhile,the developed countries also testified this point by its mature development system of consumer credit and the cosumer demand's high contribution to economic.Especially in the period of our country's economy entered into a new development stage and the residents' consumption structure in urgent need to be upgraded,if we can grasp this opportunity to develop consumer credit,our country's consumer demand will have a different situation.Therefore,it has important theoratical and practical significance to study the relationship between consumer credit and consumer demand,which will be helpful to find the problems existing in our country's consumer credit develpoment so as to promote the further development of consumer credit and further increases in consumer demand.This thesis will be expanded on the basis of the relationship between consumer credit and consumer demand in China,and introduce the concept and classification of the consumer credit,describe the history of consumer credit's development in turn.Then,using the modern consumption theory to comprehensively analyze the mechanism and channels of consumer credit to promote consumer demand,as well as clarify the significance of consumer credit to promote the increase of consumption demand.In the end,by combining the theory with practice,the author will analyze the problems existing in the development of consumer credit in our country and the reasons why the effect was not significant that consumer credit promoting consumption increase on the basis of empirical study,and put forward the corresponding strategies and suggestions.
