Untill 2015,China's urbanization rate has reached 56.1%,which firstly surpassed the world average level(54.9%).However,compared with high income countries(United States,Britain,Canada etc)in which urbanization rate was 70% above, there is a large space for development.Urbanization plays an important role in stimulating domestic demand, cracking the dual economic structure of urban and rural areas and promoting the coordinated development of regional economy. Therefore,it has a practical significance to clarify which specific factors have an important impact on urbanization,to promote the development of urbanization and improve the living standards of residents in our country.Firstly, this paper described and analyzed the present situation of urbanization of China.Secondly, based on 31 provinces(districts cities)panel data from 2008 to 2016,six factors which are per capita GDP,electricity consumption, the number of medical and health institutions and the income gap between urban and rural areas, every one hundred thousand people of higher education enrollment, the rate of forest coverage, have been considered in spatial econometric models.By compared and analyzed,it came out that the number of students per 100,000 people in higher education, the per capita GDP,the income gap between urban and rural areas have a significant influence on the development of urbanization of China. Finally, specific suggestions on improving China's urbanization rate have been put forward.
