With the development of technology,companies cannot have all the knowledge resources to maintain their competitive advantage,or they can't rely solely on their own knowledge to achieve internal growth.In this context,M&A has become an important way for companies to acquire external knowledge resources and achieve external growth.However,the failure rate of mergers and acquisitions remains high,and domestic and foreign scholars have conducted a lot of research on the reasons for the failure of mergers and acquisitions.They found that many of them are related to post-merger integration,but the integration of knowledge after M&A is difficult to achieve.Based on this point,the artical selects knowledge integration as an entry point,proposes the knowledge integration path for Chinese companies after cross-border mergers and acquisitions,and selects Geely mergers Volvo as a case to study how knowledge is integrated in a symbiotic knowledge integration model,and is derived from the results of the case study that M&A companies adopt appropriate methods to integrate the different knowledge of the acquired companies,which can improve the positive synergies,knowledge stock and the competitiveness of the companies.The first chapter of this study is the introduction.This chapter introduces the topic selection background and research significance of the study,points out the study's research methods and research framework,and sums up the innovation of this study.The second chapter is a literature review.This chapter summarizes domestic and foreign M&A integration theory and knowledge integration theory,and points out the reference significance and limitations of existing research,and provides a reference for the proposed new theoretical framework.The third chapter is research design and methods.It includes the choice of case companies,data collection,the concept of the structure of the amount,and highlightes the specificity of the selected case company.The forth chapter is case discovery.This part mainly analyzes the knowledge integration process of the case company,which focuses on how knowledge is integrated and how knowledge integration is performed,after that,we also evaluates the knowledge integration effect after M&A.The fifth chapter and sixth chapter is conclusions and deficiencies.The main conclusions of this study are extracted,the significance of the conclusions on the knowledge integration of other companies after cross-border mergers and acquisitions is analyzed,and the deficiencies of the articles are proposed.
