With the arrival of organizational flattening and borderless career,job rotation has become a frequent phenomenon.It is difficult to work in an organization for a lifetime.Hence,in order to maintain a sustainable competitive advantage and improve the employability and achieve career success,paying attention to the organization career growth become the best choice for people.At the same time for the organization,the effective promotion of employee career growth can enhance the organizational commitment of employee and reduce their turnover tendency,which is conducive to organizational survival and development.So whether for individuals or organizations,career growth are the focus of attention.According to previous studies,the relationship is an important factor affecting the career growth of employees.As a psychological distance between people and people,relationship is penetrated into all aspects of social life in China.The traditional culture that Chinese always consider for others' feelings,and think highly of relationship can not be changed.And the workplace friendship as an informal relationship in the workplace,with its voluntary,selective and other uniqueness play different role from subordinate relationship,colleagues relationship and others.Therefore,this study takes the workplace friendship as the breakthrough point,explores the influence of the workplace friendship on the staff's career growth,and tries to explore the intermediary effect of thriving at work.Based on the review and induction of relevant literatures at home and abroad,this paper constructs the theoretical model of the relationship between workplace friendship,thriving at work and career growth,and puts forward the research hypothesis.Reference to mature scale at home and abroad,the questionnaire is compiled according to Chinese situation.Through the descriptive statistics and variance analysis of the questionnaire data,we can understand the current situation of workplace friendship,career growth and thriving at work of the employees in Chinese enterprises.And then through the following series of empirical analysis to explore the influence of workplace friendship on the career growth of staff,and significance of the mediating effect of thriving at work,to establish influence mechanism for workplace friendship,thriving at work to career growth.First,the reliability analysis of the research data verifies the variables have a good reliability.Secondly,the confirmatory factor analysis of each scale showed that the scale had good structural validity and convergence validity.Finally,the correlation analysis is used to provide the basis for the hypothesis of the study,and the hypothesis is further verified by regression analysis.The study shows that workplace friendship has a significant positive impact on the career growth of the staff.Workplace friendship has a significant positive impact on the thriving at work.Thriving at work has a significant positive effect on the career growth.Thriving at work play a partial intermediary role between the relationship of workplace friendship and staff's career growth.On the basis of this study,some suggestions about the management practice have been put forward:firstly,quantify the career growth of the staff and give timely feedback to the"growth data".Secondly,enhance workplace friendship and create a friendly and mutually beneficial working environment.At the same time,this study further explores the shortcomings of this paper and prospects the future research.
