| Since China's accession to the WTO and the implementation of the “going out” strategy,participation in international economic activities has increased,and foreign economic cooperation and exchanges have developed rapidly.In particular,the rapid development of Outward Foreign Direct Investment(OFDI)has become an important indicator of a further step in China's opening economy.According to the China Direct Statistical Bulletin,the average annual growth rate of China's OFDI is as high as 35.9% as of 2016,regardless of stocks or flows,ranking first among the major OFDI countries in the world.The Chinese enterprises' OFDI involves a wide range of industries.Since 2014,it has covered 18 major categories of national economic accounting.According to the data of the three industries,the OFDI stock of the tertiary industry has been between 70% and 80% since 2004.On the other hand,China's industrial structure continues to be optimized and adjusted,and the proportion of the tertiary industry is increasing.Since 2013,the secondary industry has become the main force of economic growth.Under the background that the main contradiction of Chinese society has been transformed into the contradiction between the people's growing needs for better life and the uneven development,whether the concentration and imbalance of OFDI development will aggravate or slow the imbalance of development and industry in the domestic region.Structural imbalances are worthy of further study.Studying the impact of OFDI on industrial upgrading has important practical significance for thinking about how to adjust the industrial structure,coordinate the regional development strategy,and alleviate the imbalance of regional development from the perspective of OFDI development.At the same time,by considering the impact of spatial geographic information on the regression model,the regional differences and convergence of China's OFDI on the rationalization and upgrading of industrial structure are studied from a spatial perspective,which to some extent enriches the research theory of OFDI on industrial upgrading.It has theoretical significance.This paper mainly analyzes and empirically tests the effect of China's OFDI on industrial upgrading from a spatial perspective.There are seven chapters in total.The first chapter is the introduction,which introduces the background of the topic,the significance of the research,the research ideas,the research methods and the possible innovations of this paper.The second chapter is literature review and theoretical analysis.Firstly,it reviews the literature from the theoretical research,mechanism of action and empirical research methods of OFDI affecting industrial upgrading,and a brief review follows.Then it summarizes the theory of OFDI and industrial upgrading,and theoretically analyzes the effects of OFDI on industrial upgrading.The third chapter is the analysis of the status quo and the effect analysis,respectively expounding the status quo of OFDI and industrial upgrading and making a summary.Chapter 4 introduces models,variables,and data.The fifth chapter analyzes the effect of OFDI on industrial upgrading by using panel data model without considering geospatial information,that is,the comparative analysis of sub-regional modeling.The sixth chapter establishes spatial panel model under the consideration of geospatial information to analyze the effect of OFDI on industrial upgrading.The seventh chapter is conclusions,recommendations and prospects.Through theoretical analysis and empirical test,three conclusions are obtained:(1)China's OFDI has a significant impact on industrial upgrading.(2)The effect of China's interprovincial OFDI on industrial upgrading has convergence and heterogeneity.(3)The spatial correlation between China's interprovincial OFDI and industrial upgrading is significant,and OFDI has a significant positive impact on the industrial structure,but it has a certain negative impact on the rationalization of industrial structure. |
