Discussion On Tourism Development Path Of Tianjin Free Trade Zone Based On Industrial Agglomeration Theory

As one of the strategic pillar industries,tourism plays a significant role in bridging our world.The free trade pilot zone established by China is considered to be the avant-garde of reform and opening-up,attracting intensive attention from all sectors of society.Being a comprehensive experimental field of institutional innovation,Tianjin Free Trade Zone will inevitably further stimulate market vitality by institutional innovation of tourism-related industries.With the construction and usage of transportation hubs including the international cruise ship home ports and Tianjin Airport,an obvious increase in passenger volume has been seen in Tianjin Free Trade Zone.However,the influence of tourism in Tianjin Free Trade Zone is still weak in terms of the Beijing-Tianjin region.Considering tourism destinations,regional tourism industry cluster is conducive to the formation of synergistic development of industrial pattern,and to the enhancement of enterprise competence and regional competitiveness.In this paper we conduct our research on the development path of tourism in Tianjin Free Trade Zone based on the theory of industrial agglomeration.By analyzing the tourism industry in Tianjin Free Trade Zone,we aim to enrich the current research results of Free Trade Zone Tourism,to put forward a tourism development path that is in line with the actual situation of Tianjin,and to provide references for the development of tourism industry in other areas.This article is divided into six parts and organized as follows: The first part is the introduction of the background,significance,research methods and technical routes of this paper.The second part is the study on industrial agglomeration concept and theory.Starting from the concept of industrial agglomeration and tourism industry agglomeration,it introduces the industrial zone theory,agglomeration economic theory and competitive advantage theory.The third part is literature research.The related references are sorted out from two aspects: tourism industry agglomeration and free trade zone tourism.The fourth part is the analysis of the current situation and competitiveness of tourism industry agglomeration development in Tianjin Free Trade Zone.Based on the field researches,interviews and literature materials,this part introduces the foundations of tourism agglomeration development in Tianjin Free Trade Zone,and the SWOT analysis of tourism industry agglomeration development is conducted.After using the location quotient and tourism industry chain correlation coefficient to measure the concentration of tourism industry,the competitiveness of tourism industry clusters is evaluated based on the GEM model.The fifth part is the discussion on the tourism development path of Tianjin Free Trade Zone.It analyzes the determinants,types,characteristics,agglomeration structures,dynamic factors and path of the development and proposes countermeasures on promoting the development of tourism industry in Tianjin Free Trade Zone.The sixth part is the conclusion and outlook,summarizing the main conclusions of this paper,and bringing about the innovation points and limitations of the research and putting forward the prospects of future researches.According to the empirical researches on tourism in Tianjin Free Trade Zone,conclusions can be drawn as follows.Tourism industry in Tianjin Free Trade Zone has its advantages in the solid regional economic foundation,concentrated industrial factors,large passenger flow and traffic volume,preferential policies of free trade zone,and so forth.Its weaknesses lie in the uneven regional development and poor synergistic development among districts.The promotion of the government in tourism industry and the upgrading of tourism consumption can be seen as the opportunities while threats--the development environment of tourism industry,competition in other free trade zones in China,and competition in surrounding tourist destinations--can never be ignored.At present,industrial cluster of tourism-specialized development has not formed and the tourism aggregation in the tertiary industry in Tianjin free trade zone is still low.The competitiveness of the enterprise structure,strategy and competition is relatively weak,and the competitiveness of the tourism industry cluster is not reached but close to having a comparative competitive advantage within the country.Conclusions can be drawn from the studies that three factors--the advantageous tourism resources,the specialization of tourism industry as well as planning and policy of tourism industry development--are decisive for the development model of Tianjin Free Trade Zone.The type of tourism development in Tianjin Free Trade Zone is a market-oriented industrial integration one,which can be characterized as the coexistence of point-type development and partial agglomeration development,weak competitiveness of tourism enterprises and inadequate use of tourism political advantages.On this basis,according to the analysis of the current situation of tourism industry agglomeration in Tianjin Free Trade Zone,it is proposed that the tourism industry of Tianjin Free Trade Zone can be concentrated around three major tourism products,namely coastal sightseeing tourism,urban leisure experiencing tourism and industrial tourism.The driving force of agglomeration development is the requirement of sustainable development in the established tourism market,attractiveness of competitive tourism products as well as the development and optimization of tourism products.The development path of tourism industry agglomeration in Tianjin Free trade zone is to stimulate the development of shopping tourism in free trade zone and attract customers through policy innovations,taking advantages of shopping tourism to drive the development of catering,accommodation,culture,leisure,entertainment and other tourism industries.In order to improve the structure of tourism industry agglomeration elements,resource allocation in the development of related tourism products is supposed to be determined by the market.Therefore,the accumulation of tourism industry elements in the free trade zone as well as the amalgamation of urban leisure experiencing tourism and coastal sightseeing tourism and industrial tourism can be promoted.Furthermore,it promotes the integration of the tourism industry with other industries.Finally,learning from successful development experiences,this paper puts forward some suggestions on the development of tourism industry agglomeration in order to provide reference for the development of tourism industry in Tianjin Free Trade Zone.
