The main purpose of this business plan is to evaluate the feasibility of creating a company that sells surprise travel packages in Colombia.Due to increment of national and international travels in Colombia,the low innovation in the tourism industry and the current access to internet,we see a unique opportunity to develop a business idea in the sector that is innovative and does not exist in the Colombian Market yet.Our proposal is to offer a surprise travel package composed by 2 nights of accommodation in a 3 to 4 stars' hotel and a round flight ticket with small bag included every time.The premise of our offer consists of: a low and fix price every time and find out the destination 2 days before the departure.This offer allows us to implement a business model that takes into account the availability and price of flights and accommodation first,instead of a specific destination.In this way,we select the final destination based on the empty seats and the empty rooms existing in the different possible destinations(initially 6),thus selecting the best offer among the different options that align with the price that the client has previously paid and the profit margin that we need to be able to operate.To evaluate the feasibility of the project we performed a deep analysis covering aspects like the market,the industry and different financial scenarios.This analysis found positive outcomes due to profitable financial projections in different scenarios,evidence of a growing market,evidence of new growing tendencies in tourism,and evidence of lack of innovation in the industry the last years.Additionally,this research revealed a growing demand in new travelling offers and a high interest in offers like ours.As a conclusion,the study assesses that surprise travels in Colombia is a viable project and can be profitable and sustainable in the long term.
