Since China joined the World Trade Organization in 2001,China continuously improve the level of opening and reform. At the same time,Chinese GDP and national income levels and national consumption keep improving, based on meeting domestic market demand and balancing bilateral trade between China and related trading countries.China’s international trade in agricultural products, especially livestock products, continues to grow rapidly. What needs special mention is that with the continuous expansion of the import and export trade of China’s livestock products, the international trade deficit of China’s livestock products has also increased. In comparison, although China’s livestock industry has long been ranked in the forefront of the global livestock industry, the share of international trade in livestock products in the world is still low.In addition, the continuous expansion of China’s livestock products international trade scale and trade deficit not only means that China’s livestock products development needs to optimize the industrial structure and product structure, but also reflects the relatively weak competitiveness of China’s livestock products in the international market.Under the new situation, the high-quality development of China’s livestock products will not only help to ensure the safety of agriculture products supply and meet the ever-increasing domestic market demand, but also support the Development-oriented Poverty Reduction Program and moderately prosperous society in all respects to a considerable extent.Through the analysis of this paper. The main importing countries of China’s livestock products are beef and milk products, while the main importing countries of China’s livestock products are traditional animal husbandry such as New Zealand,Australia, the United States and Germany. In comparison, the main products in China’s livestock products export trade are animal offal and blood products, while the main export countries or regions of China’s livestock products are Hong Kong,Japan. At present,China’s livestock export products are inconsistent with the faster-growing livestock export products in the world market, and the export structure still needs further optimization. In China’s import trade of livestock products,China’s import demand for livestock products has also created a Two-way dependence situation, which is,China relies on the import of livestock products from a limited number of countries, and the exporters also rely on China’s huge market demand. It should be specially stated that the dual dependence of China’s livestock husbandry import trade will help protect the supply of livestock products in China in the short term, but it will not be conducive to the long-term development of China’s livestock production and trade in the long run.China’s livestock products exports also show concentrated export market.China’s livestock products are mostly exported to Hong Kong and Japan. In the face of the huge demand for livestock products in developed countries,China’s livestock products’ weak competitiveness and encountering trade barriers have not effectively entered the markets of developed countries. After the descriptive analysis, this paper uses the CMS model to calculate the whole and structural, static and dynamic decomposition of the import and export trade fluctuations of Chinese livestock products during 1995-2017.Through the decomposition the fluctuation of China’s livestock products import and export trade, analysis influence of various factors on China’s livestock products import and export trade, the 23 years of China’s livestock products import and export trade fluctuations and development trends in the future, finally through analysis The current deep-rooted reasons affecting the import and export trade of China’s livestock products, and based on the results of descriptive statistic and qualitative analysis, put forward policy recommendations for the current development of China’s livestock products international trade.
