Research On The Correlation Between Environmental Cost Internalization And Financial Performance Of Thermal Power Plant

Thermal power is one of the main modes of energy supply in China.Thermal power not only provides continuous power for our daily production and life,but also brings serious environmental pollution problems.Although our country has been increasing environmental protection propaganda and investment in recent years,there are still some enterprises pursuing immediate interests and ignoring the ecological environment,and the production process has caused a very bad impact on the environment.Nitrogen oxides,sulfides and solid wastes from fossil fuels have a serious impact on the ecological quality.The value of environmental resources is becoming more and more important.In the short term,the implementation of environmental cost internalization policy may have a negative impact on the profitability of thermal power enterprises,and there are many aspects of resistance to promote the implementation of environmental cost internalization.Therefore,how to balance the relationship between pollution and development under the structure of thermal power supply has become a hot issue in academic circles.This paper is based on extensive reading and referring to the literature on the correlation between internalization of environmental costs and financial performance of enterprises in recent years.Combining the technical and economic evaluation method with the financial index,based on the strategic goal of coordinating economic development and ecological environment and the characteristics of thermal power generation enterprises,the relationship between the level of internalization of environmental cost and the financial performance of enterprises is analyzed and discussed.This paper first clarifies the research background and significance,and gives a brief introduction to the industry status and pollution status of thermal power plants in China,and summarized the related research status at home and abroad.Secondly,it expounds the related theoretical basis of environmental cost internalization and financial performance,which provides the necessary theoretical support for the development of the following text.Thirdly,the correlation mechanism between environmental cost internalization and financial performance is analyzed and the research hypothesis is put forward.Then the evaluation index system of environmental cost internalization level and financial performance level is constructed,and the control variables which may affect the two major research variables are brought into the analysis program,and the influence of other factors on the research results is excluded to ensure the scientific nature of the follow-up analysis.On the basis of constructing the index system,the correlation analysis model between environmental cost internalization and financial performance of thermal power plant is established,and the data are processed with SPSS23 software.In this paper,it is concluded that the financial performance of thermal power plant is positively related to the internalization level of current environmental cost,and the internalization level of current environmental cost is negatively related to the current financial performance of the enterprise.The conclusion that the internalization level of current environmental cost is positively related to the financial performance in the later period of the enterprise.Finally,according to the present situation of environmental cost internalization policy in our country,this paper puts forward some suggestions on how to improve the internalization of environmental cost in thermal power plants,and points out the direction of further strengthening management construction.
