Restudy On The Interaction Of Two-way International Direct Investment On China's Export Technological Sophistication Index

After the reform and opening up,China's trade in goods has experienced a leap-forward development.However,the highest value of China's export of goods occurred in 2014,and it has experienced a significant decline in the next two years.China still has not completely separated from the status of “world factory”,and the technical content of export products needs to be improved.In addition,at a time when Sino-US trade disputes continue to occur,the United States has repeatedly tried to increase tariffs on Chinese exports,and China's trade in goods will undergo severe tests.At the same time,with the deepening of the two strategies of “going out” and reform and opening up,the importance of two-way international investment for China's economic development is increasing.In this context,it is of great significance to make a true and rigorous calculation of China's manufacturing technology level and to study whether two-way international investment contributes to the development of China's manufacturing export technology.This will undoubtedly have great significance for China to accumulate product technology advantages and improve international competitiveness.This thesis firstly calculates the complexity of export technology based on the international trade value-added data and China's provincial trade data,and then compares it according to different economic development levels and regions,and analyzes the international status of China's manufacturing products.To study the heterogeneity of various regions in China;secondly,based on the three dimensions of impact mechanism and theoretical model,based on the three dimensions of IFDI,OFDI and interaction,analyze the mechanism of the two-way international investment on the complexity of export technology and the economic principles behind it.Then,the empirical tests were carried out on the international panel and the provincial panel respectively to further verify the influencing factors of the complexity of China's manufacturing export technology,and prove that the two-way international investment can improve the technical level of product export from the national level and the provincial level,but the two are common.There is an interaction effect of mutual inhibition when acting.Therefore,China needs to continue to build an open economy,promote reform and opening up and “going out” strategies,expand the scale of two-way international investment,and establish sufficient supporting systems to make the positive effects of both play a full role.On the one hand,we focus on the quality of foreign investment,avoid foreign direct investment to occupy the local scarce resources or labor,on the other hand we improve the investment management system,distinguish between countries,industries and regions with two-way investment,and guide international investment to be more coordinated and reasonable.
