The economic globalization brings not only the development opportunities,but unprecedented pressure to enterprises.The companies,especially the traditional manufacturing ones,are faced with big challenges today,such as higher costing,less profit and more peer competitors.Thus,Chinese companies have been learning from advanced foreign companies to rebuild their management system and improve their technology.Especially in the industry 4.0 trend,the Internet,Cloud computing,Big data and AI technology have indeed made a difference to some companies.However,according to some statistics reports,many companies spent over much money,time and human resources in building information system,especially on MES.But in most cases,the result returned out to be unsatisfactory against the high input.Therefore,how to improve the information systems rebuilding,the MES projects performance and enhance the competitiveness are very important and urgent problems our Chinese companies need to deal with.Based on this background,this paper concludes the factors that influence the performance of MES project in company C and other companies through document research and investigation.Combined with information ecological dynamic balance theory,we propose a new solution of improving MES performance in micro-system level.Firstly,the paper sorts out the information flow of company C and finds out its core problem in business and management: lack of business communication and information system integration,low integrated operation performance,and information isolated island.In this case,many MES functions may not be utilized and that is a serious waste of investment,which turns down the actual performance.Secondly,according to the problems above,this paper comes up with concrete information flow optimization methods of company C on the base of information ecologic balance theory and IDEF0 modeling,and rearrange the information flow through four subsystems,planning,production,data collection and data analysis.Then,we use it in business and management aspects.The major solutions include: enhancing the ability of data sharing among core business of four major departments,increasing information system interfaces and reports of MES system,improving the ability of cooperation between business and information,optimizing the data storage structure to improve the information processing efficiency,and elevating the ability of IT infrastructures to modify the information environment of MES system.Finally,company C took our suggestions and has made a lot of practice in the past two years.This paper also illustrates the detail methods of information flow optimization and its actual optimization process.At the same time,it analyzes the actual performance difference of before and after optimization.The results show us the information ecologic balance theory and IDEF0 method is very useful for information flow optimization in Company C and it brings actual improvement of MES system usage in Company C.This paper also analyzes the profound influence of above methods implementation for company C,and points out the feasibility suggestions for other companies.It brings a certain reference value for implementing MES system in electronic manufacturing industry.
