Research On The Status And Influencing Factors Of Global Value Chain Of China's Agro-processing Industry

With the reduction of trade costs and communication costs,the division of labor in global value chains is gradually refined.Based on comparative advantages,countries embed different production links in the international division of labor to realize value-added,and the division of labor in the global value chain has gradually become the mainstream.The profitability of the agricultural product processing industry is limited,and the substantial reduction in communication costs has provided development space for the industry's transnational production.As the downstream link of agricultural production,the depth of agricultural product processing and the position of the value chain directly determine the direction of China's agricultural product development.However,it was hindering the high-quality development of China's agricultural product processing industry because the development of China's agricultural product processing industry started late,and the output of low-end products was excessive and the supply of high-end products was insufficient.The optimization of the value chain of agricultural products processing industry is of great significance to extend the agricultural industrial chain,increase the added value of products,promote the development of agricultural products processing to“deep”,deepen the structural reform of the agricultural supply side of China,and realize agricultural modernization.Based on the value-added trade statistics framework,this paper uses the world input-output table data in the WIOD database to measure the value added,the global value chain status,the global value chain participation and the degree of front and back vertical specialization in the total exports of China's agricultural products processing industry.And this paper also analyze the dynamic changes of the profitability and value chain status of the agricultural product processing industry and its sub-sectors in the process of participating in the global value chain.On the basis of theoretical analysis,the empirical method was used to test the effect of the factors affecting the value chain status of China's agricultural product processing industry.Through quantitative calculations,it has been found that since China's accession to the WTO,China's agricultural product processing industry has continued to develop,and the value-added capabilities of its products have gradually increased and then declined.The development of various sub-sectors is quite different.In recent years,the trend of foreign capital controlling the entire industrial chain with agricultural product processing as a breakthrough has gradually intensified.At the same time,China's agricultural product processing industry has always been at a disadvantage of low participation and low-end value-added links in the global value chaindivision,and its profitability is extremely limited.Through further empirical analysis,it has been found that the “lock-in” effect of China's agricultural product processing industry in participating in the global value chain division of labor is greater than the “upgrading”effect.The expansion of industry scale and the development of producer service trade have significantly promoted the status of China's agricultural product processing industry's global value chain;the level of factor endowment,the uncertainty of international environment and the participation of global value chains have significantly inhibited the global value chain of China's agricultural products processing industry.The technical level and human capital have not yet had a significant impact on the status of China's agricultural product processing industry value chain.
