Under the background of China's innovation-driven development strategy,Chinese enterprises pay more and more attention to technological innovation and pursue higher innovation performance.Researches on the impact of technological innovation models on innovation performance have focused on different points.Most of them focus on the technological innovation's impact on innovation performance from the perspective of internal and external innovation or incremental mutation innovation,and researches based on the perspective of enterprise innovation capability are few.There is no comprehensive research on the three technological innovation models based on the perspective of enterprise innovation capability and the literature on the complementarity between innovation models.From the basic situation of enterprise technology innovation in China at this stage,can all three technological innovation models promote innovation performance? The knowledge-based theory points out that the development of a company and its success are closely related to how knowledge is applied within the enterprise.Then,under the influence of specific contextual factors related to knowledge,what effect will the impact of different technological innovation models on innovation performance change? In addition to choosing a single technology innovation model,is there a complementarity between different technological innovation models? Can different complementary technological innovation models be adopted simultaneously to promote innovation performance? These are all key questions worth exploring.The main classification basis of the technological innovation in technological innovation theory is the level and scope of innovation.The existing researches have analyzed the technological innovation models from the closed to the open,and then extended to the internal technological innovation and external technological innovation.The perspective of this kind research focuses on whether enterprise technology innovation crosses the boundaries of the enterprise and focuses on the process of technological innovation from internal to external.China is still in the middle stage of development,and the overall level of technological innovation has still a certain distance from developed countries.Although enterprises are increasingly enthusiastic about technological innovation,and they are constantly increasing their technological innovations in order to obtain high innovation performance,but they are limited by their lack of technological innovation capability.So they cannot simply imitate internal technological innovation or external technological innovation.Therefore,classifying technological innovation models based on the perspective of innovation capability of enterprises and studying their impact on innovation performance is more suitable for Chinese companies according to the background of the current Chinese enterprises' innovative ability,and also can provide practical management advice for Chinese enterprises.Based on this,this study incorporates the technological innovation model and innovation performance based on the classification of innovation capability into the research system to explore the impact of different technological innovation models on innovation performance.At the same time,the specific situational factors of the enterprise will affect the innovation performance of different technological innovation models.Discussing the role of different technological innovation models under the influence of specific situational factors on innovation performance will bring more practical references to enterprises.Finally,exploring the complementarity between different technological innovation models can also provide new ideas for enterprises to adopt a combination of multiple technological innovation models and find new developments in technological innovation.This research combines technology innovation theory,knowledge-based theory and resource-based theory,and takes Chinese GEM companies as research objects to explore the impact of technological innovation models on innovation performance through empirical analysis.The research object of this paper is China's GEM enterprises.507 enterprises of the GEM were selected as research objects from 2016 to 2018,and Stata was used as the analysis tool.The least squares method was used for regression analysis to study the main mode of innovation of technological innovation mode.The effects and the adjustment effects of corporate absorptive capacity and human capital,and finally the interaction between different technological innovation models for innovation performance,explored the complementarity between different technological innovation models.The empirical results of this study show that:(1)the independent innovation,the imitative innovation and the cooperative innovation all have positive correlation with innovation performance;(2)corporate absorptive capacity plays a positive role between independent innovation and innovation performance and between cooperative innovation and innovation performance,and human capital plays a positive role in imitating innovation and innovation performance.(3)independent innovation and cooperative innovation have interactive effects on innovation performance,and there is complementarity between independent innovation and cooperative innovation;imitative innovation and cooperative innovation have complementary effects on innovation performance,there is complementarity between imitating innovation and cooperative innovation;(4)the size of the firm in the control variables positively affects the innovation performance,the age of the enterprise negatively affects the innovation performance,and the marketization index positively affects the innovation performance;According to the above research conclusions,this paper proposes management enlightenment from the perspective of improving the technological innovation ability of enterprises and enhancing the absorption capacity of enterprises and human capital.First,enterprises should make full use of the patent system and establish an intellectual property management system within the enterprise.Enterprises should be good at adapting to local conditions and be good at inspiring independent innovation from the market.We must strengthen investment in the follow-up links of independent innovation;grasp the opportunity of imitating innovation;cooperative innovation should coordinate all parties and adopt a form of cooperative innovation that suits the enterprise itself;enterprises should pay attention to improving the absorption capacity and human capital reserve of the enterprise;secondly,the government should further stimulate the technological innovation;finally,the enterprise should flexibly selects a combination of technological innovations to maximize innovation performance based on the enterprise's own conditions.
