With the development of economic globalization and China's deepening opening up,China has become the second largest economy and the pioneer of economic globalization.Since the strategy of The Belt and Road in 2013,China's IFDI(inward foreign direct investment)and OFDI(outward foreign direct investment)have been developing rapidly. This paper explores the interaction between them.At present, there are few literatures about this problem. In view of this situation, this paper first uses the population evolution theory to test the development process and the relationship between IFDI(level of direct foreign investment)and OFDI(level of foreign direct investment). The results of logistic symbiotic evolution model test show that the development of IFDI belongs to the middle and late stage of growth, while the development of OFDI is gradually stepping into mature period. The test results of infectious disease model and density dependence model show that they are mutually beneficial and symbiotic, and there is no obvious infectious behavior between them, which belongs to pretty rational decision-making behavior, and the test results are significant. In order to accurately measure the degree of coupling coordination between IFDI and OFDI,this paper introduces the coupling coordination theory. The coupling coordination model is established to measure the IFDI/OFDI coupling coordination degree of 29 provincial administrative regions in China. The results show that half of the regions in China basically reach the state of barely coordination.Furthermore, the paper explores the deep mechanism of the coordinated development of IFDI and OFDI by introducing the urbanization rate as the explanatory variable. The test result shows that the regression coefficient is 2.8132 with a significant positive correlation. At the same time, the per capita GDP of the control variable area is also significantly positive correlation. In order to further explore the transmission mechanism, the level of foreign R & D embeddedness index is introduced to test the intermediary effect of the above transmission process.Furthermore, the intermediary effect test is passed. The regression results are significant, and the intermediary effect is 3.75%.
