The internal control system is not only an important part of the modern enterprise system, but also a significant measure to reduce financial risks. The Enron incident in the United States, the occurrence of WorldCom's fraud case, and the promulgation of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act(SOX)have made internal control a hot topic for research in the practical and academic circles. This article takes the data of all A-share listed companies in China's capital market from 2013 to 2017 as a research sample, and uses theoretical analysis and empirical research methods to explore the impact of the effectiveness of internal control on corporate operating performance and audit opinions, and to test corporate operating performance in internal control The mediating effect between effectiveness and the relationship between non-standard audit opinions. The results show that:(1)the effectiveness of internal control is significantly negatively related to non-standard audit opinions, that is,effective internal control can reduce the probability that an enterprise is issued a non-standard audit opinion;(2)the effectiveness of internal control and the operating performance of the enterprise Significant positive correlation, that is,effective internal control can promote the improvement of business performance, which verifies the positive role of high-quality internal control in ensuring the achievement of corporate goals;(3)the effectiveness of business performance in internal control The relationship with audit opinions plays a part of the intermediary role, that is,effective internal control can reduce the probability of obtaining non-standard audit opinions by improving the operating performance of the enterprise. In the further discussion, the tests were grouped according to the nature of the property rights of the enterprise. The regression results show that in non-state-owned enterprises, the intermediary effect of the effectiveness of internal control and the relationship between audit opinions is significant, but not significant in state-owned enterprises. This also shows from the side that the internal control effect of state-owned enterprises is better.
