Research On The Influence Of Outward Foreign Direct Investment On The Upgrading Of Industrial Structure—Based On The Belt And Road Initiative

After sixty years of ups and downs and forty years of reform and opening up,China prospers quickly,speeding up the industrial structure adjustment,and Chinese foreign direct investment is growing rapidly.Moreover,the Belt and Road Initiative has aroused the wave of external expansion of China.Therefore,it is of great significant to exploring the impact of Chinese OFDI along the Belt and Road and developed countries on the industrial structure upgrading,which is instructive to provide strategic suggestions.In terms of theoretical research,basing on the existing theories and research results,combining with advanced experience and cases,this thesis puts forward six innovative mechanisms of Chinese outward foreign direct investment on the upgrading of industrial structure.In the empirical analysis,according to the core concept of industrial structure upgrading,this thesis proposes a comprehensive measurement method to measure the rationalization and upgrading level of China's industrial structure.Based on the data between 2003 and 2018,after a series of tests and analysis,constructing the VAR model,this thesis explore the influences of Chinese outward foreign direct investment along the Belt and Road and developed countries on the rationalization and upgrading of the industrial structure.It is found that Chinese outward foreign direct investment in the countries along the Belt and Road promotes the rationalization of China's industrial structure,but has a low degree of influence,and has no significant impact on the upgrading of the industrial structure.Chinese outward foreign direct investment in developed countries has a significant promotion effect on the rationalization of industrial structure.Although it has a negative impact on the upgrading of industrial structure in the current period,it still has a positive effect in the long run.Based on the above conclusions,the thesis puts forward some suggestions for the development of Chinese outward foreign direct investment.
