Abstract/Summary:
This project involved improving the properties of biodiesel by decreasing the average molecular mass of biofuels utilizing cross-metathesis chemistry, an attempt to synthesize transesterification products in ionic liquids, synthesis of aza-polycyclic aromatic compounds from Hantzsch precursors, and superelectrophilic chemistry with trifluoromethyl-1,3-dicarbonyl compounds.
