Abstract/Summary:
This study uses process simulation to understand and review the possible upset case scenarios in process operations during normal operation. Checking the control structure of the process also uses process simulation. This study uses Aspen PlusRTM and Aspen DynamicsRTM simulation software.;Aspen PlusRTM software develops the steady state models of the plant. Plant data verifies the models. This steady state file then transfers to a dynamic simulation in Aspen DynamicRTM. This study involves performing case studies based on the normal plant operation, and closely reviewing possible cases. The model for upset cases is developed for ethylene oxide manufacture plant, i.e., recovery section. Information from these models can estimate upset and train operators.
