In this thesis, we will survey methods of wireless power generation, including: inductive coupling, high-frequency transmission, battery power, and energy harvesting. The initial survey includes both power transmission and self-induced generation; however, the eventual focus of the thesis is on self-induced power generation. In particular, we will focus on two methods, battery power and energy harvesting, which are most suited for industrial and aerospace applications. Then, we will evaluate the operation of a piezoelectric transducer and its capability to generate self-induced power. In the end, we will present a feasible method of self-induced power generation for wireless MEMS devices in industrial and aerospace applications.
