| The thermoacoustic refrigerating system is an environmentally friendly alternative refrigeration system that produces cooling from sound. An experimental research was conducted to study the thermal response of the system when subjected to varying cooling load, frequency and pressure. A number of modifications were made on an existing system following which the analysis and experimental system for the study was developed. The experimental setup consists of the test section in the system and the data acquisition system. The results show that from the variation of cooling load with pressure, higher cooling load and lower pressure results in higher maximum temperature in the system. For variation of cooling load with frequency, higher cooling load results in higher maximum temperature but different frequency results in different maximum temperature. Therefore, there should be a compromise between pressure, frequency and cooling load to achieve the best performance in the system. |
