| This action research project was concerned with the question of how knowledge transfer (KT) occurs related to family centred care (FCC). The project provided an opportunity to understand the processes, barriers and opportunities to improve the effectiveness of KT related to FCC.Recommendations include creating opportunities for change, where staff can come together in a trusting environment to reflect on current practice enhance staff skills in active listening skill and searching and critically analyzing research create a shared language regarding family centred care improve the feedback mechanisms through the formal quality improvement strategies and embed KT related to FCC in other organizational initiatives.Individual interviews were held with staff to explore their perceptions regarding knowledge transfer. The analysis of these individual interviews produced themes regarding the methods, barriers and enablers to knowledge transfer. These finding were then further explored with a focus group comprised of staff and managers. |
