Abstract/Summary:
Northwest Arkansas soldiers served a short term during the Mexican Revolution with little support from domestic mobilization. One year later, northwest Arkansas citizens mobilized in earnest as local soldiers prepared to serve in World War I. Some northwest Arkansas soldiers stayed in America, some reached Europe and did not fight, some fought in the closing months of World War I, and about five dozen lost their lives in the struggle. The exploits of these individuals before 1920 will be described below.
