Abstract/Summary:
Children experiencing parental divorce or separation often have difficulty adjusting to this difficult life transition due to the instability in the family home and the disrupted parenting practices. Failure to adjust to this transition may lead to unhealthy behaviors and various maladjustment problems including behavior, academic, health, and delinquency problems.; The purpose of this project was to write a proposal to fund the Healthy Family Transition Program at Bell Gardens Intermediate School. The Healthy Family Transition program provides support groups for children and psycho-educational groups for parents who are experiencing divorce or separation to aid in the continuation of healthy child development. Actual submission and/or funding of this grant was not required for the successful completion of this project.
