This thesis contributes to a depth psychological understanding of the trauma of childhood sexual abuse against boys and the difficulties that survivors experience in adulthood, and also considers therapeutic interventions that can safely support men in healing from this particular abuse. A heuristic methodology is employed throughout the work and functions as a guide in the research and as a beacon in the search for effective solutions that can help men recover. Through sharing his experience of connection to the subjects of a magazine article that reported the experience of other sexual abuse trauma survivors, the author examines the symptomology of male survivors, including the psychological and behavioral problems that survivors commonly experience, and goes on to explore safe and effective depth-based interventions that can be employed to help male survivors recover from their trauma. |
