| Despite the rapidly growing popularity of Fantasy Football little academic work has looked into the popular culture phenomenon. This paper uses the lens of the communication theory, Uses and Gratifications, to examine Fantasy Football participant's behavior. Over 300 surveys were collected on the Internet to sample Fantasy Football participants in different areas including: how participants play, what motivates them to play, and to what extent participants are playing. Demographic information was also collected. This information was then run though statistical software according to quantitative methodologies. |
