Abstract/Summary:
In recent decades programs that provide subsidized public housing have been the subject of much controversy and debate. The argument is related to issues surrounding the possible impact these programs have on surrounding neighborhood land values. In this study, Omaha scattered-site public housing locations are analyzed for relationships to nearby property values. A pre/post hedonic econometric model is implemented to measure any significant relationships among scattered-site public housing and the local selling prices of single-family residential homes.
