| This dissertation discusses our investigations into the development of the type 2 intramolecular N-acylnitroso Diels-Alder cycloaddition. Previous work from our group has demonstrated that the bridged bicyclic oxazinolactam could be synthesized by T2IMDA reaction. A method for the synthesis of substituted bridged bicyclic oxazinolactams and caprolactams has been developed. We demonstrate that the synthetic efforts towards the synthesis of the Stemona alkaloid (-)-stenine by the type 2 intramolecular N-acylnitroso Diels-Alder cycloaddition. |
