| This paper is to review the rapid prototyping (R/P) and reverse engineering (R/E) technologies, which have been greatly developed in the field of technology, function, and application recently. As one of their applications, a military track was selected and evaluated its structural performance. A new track design was proposed and prototypes were fabricated using the three dimensional printing (3DP) technology. They were verified by the 3D scanning process. All of the new process was well executed as expected, and it can be applied for other track improvement programs, future developing products, and even ordinary product improvement. |
