The secondary objective is to compare the performances of this structure with those of one built in the microstrip technology which stay the most popular and cheap technology in the microwaves field.; This document reports the steps that were undertaken to achieve the design, fabrication, measure and evaluation of this 1 to 16 ways power divider. In the first chapter, the SIW technology is presented. Among others elements, it is compared to the microstip technology and the rectangular metallic waveguide technology. In the following chapters is presented the progressive design method that was used during this project. In the second chapter; two basic SIW junctions are first studied and designed before being built and measured. Based on the performances of these junctions, more complex dividing structures were designed, built, and measured. The third chapter presents a 1 to 4 ways power divider and the forth one present the final 1 to 16 ways divider. At the end of this chapter, the performances of this last SIW power divider are compared to those of a similar 1 to 16 way power divider built with the microstrip technology. This analysis shows that the performances of the SIW divider are superior to those of the microstrip divider for a Rogers Duroid 5880 substrate thicker than 3 mm (12 mil).
