Abstract/Summary:
The paper is a replication paper that follow the structure and research method of the paper written by Li et al in 2007 to figure out the economic return of being a Communist Party member except it uses using a different two-sibling data set. The results of this paper show that the 6.7% positive return estimated by OLS regression just decreases to 6.6% when the within-two-sibling fixed effects regression is conducted. That means that the wage premium of CCP membership is brought by itself rather than brought by unobserved ability or family background. And there is no difference of the size of the positive return between different generations.
