Abstract/Summary:
The purpose of this project was to locate a potential funding source and write a grant to implement a support group for adolescent boys from divorced families. An extensive literature review was performed to investigate the many stressors caused by being part of a divorced family in order to understand this population. Since divorce is a growing trend, this population is increasing and their needs are becoming more apparent.;A search was conducted to locate a funder for an after-school support group targeting adolescent boys in a high school in Riverside County. The Stuart Foundation was chosen as the best match for the proposed program.;The goals of this program are to help adolescents deal with depression, anger, and loneliness; express their feelings; and reduce their behavior problems.;The actual submission of the proposal was not a requirement for this thesis project.
