| The Internet provides access to many kinds of information not always available through a library. However, the vast amount of information available and the lack of organization means the seeker must spend a great deal more time on the Internet than in the Library searching for the information.;Key Words: industrial design, interaction design, human-computer interaction, information retrieval, Internet search.;Chapter three describes Augmented Knowledge Gathering, a set of design criteria developed through literature review, user interviews and design exploration intended to help in the design of a tool to augment the researcher's ability to evaluate large numbers of Internet query results. Through the application of the Augmented Knowledge Gathering criteria opportunities can be provided for those searching the Internet to develop a qualitative understanding of a collection of search results. |
