The purpose of this research study was to examine perceptions of the impact of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) on Mexico. Specifically, this study examined business and fashion student's opinions about Mexico's maquiladora sector's environmental pollution, child labor, and the wages earned by maquiladora laborers since the NAFTA's implementation in 1994.;A convenience sample of 114 subjects, 18 years of age and older, was utilized for this study. Participants were students enrolled in departments studying international trade, finance, textiles, business, and economics, from a large state university in southern California. Results of the paired t-tests revealed a significant improvement in the air and land pollution in the Mexican maquiladora industrial sector, significant improvement in the age of child laborers, and significant improvement in the wages paid maquiladora laborers since the NAFTA's implementation in 1994.
