Global aviation infrastructure encompassing both airports and aviation airways should have some standardization so to use the best ideas available and make best use of available resources. Time, space, materials, manpower, and trust between participating nations, encouraged without force, on a voluntary basis are important, if such a voluntary structure is possible. This planning is important so that global infrastructure is not left to chance like so many metropolitan areas, with costly errors resulting from little or no future planning. Five different aspects are examined with an eye to retaining the best intellectual tools, lessons learned, and new technologies: global transportation standardization, multimodal metro-area planning, human-technology interaction improvements in aviation, acceleration of successful regional trade agreements, and examination of the influence of policy and regulation within a nation-state. A one-way between groups ANOVA with 95% confidence interval is used to compare several group categories against one dependent strategy. If successfully proven in practice, the result of this paper should be a set of ideas that will allow the efficient voluntary standardization that also respects the sovereignty of nations. The basis for the integration and improvement of safety and standardization within the supporting multimodal transportation system and the aviation airways and airport infrastructure was built on fundamental principles from system safety but also included a range of other fields. The author's specialization, within the aeronautical science degree program, is aviation/ aerospace safety systems.
