Abstract/Summary:
The prediction of the onset of hydrate nucleation is one of the most challenging issues in the study of gas hydrates as otherwise it could lead to the blockage of subsea oil and gas pipelines. The goal of this proposed work is to combine the two theories as stated in the literature because the latter have developed a survival curve which has a direct physical interpretation, the value at any fixed super cooled temperature is just the probability that any given sample will "survive" in the super cooled state to reach that particular temperature given the sample is being linearly cooled below freezing. The aim is to predict the induction time using this probability function with or without the presence of inhibitors.
