Abstract/Summary:
While the debate on climate change cause and effect goes on, evidence of human-induced climate change grows. Questions remain, such as how much warming will occur if atmospheric levels of greenhouse gases continue to increase and what the consequence of inaction will be. Governments, energy companies, and energy consumers need to accept that their activities have an influence and take appropriate action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This Master's Degree Project discusses various opportunities companies can seize that will not only reduce emissions, but will also have additional benefits for the company, the environment, and society.; This research was directed to present achievable actions that are currently available to the energy industry, that can be adapted to differing corporate circumstances, and that can be combined to become part of a comprehensive strategy.
