This work addresses the synthesis and characterization of single-walled carbon nanotubes, which have recently received considerable attention in the fields of nanoelectronics, chemical sensing, polymer composite manufacture, and H2 storage. Raman spectroscopy has been used to observe the shifts in the vibrational frequencies of molecular adsorbates on the surfaces of “ropes” of nanotubes. This work also describes simulations of the H2 adsorption properties of these unique macromolecules. |
