Abstract/Summary:
Through principles of systematic philosophy a generic holistic improvement strategies model has been derived in this report. The model is based on Sun Tzu's thought system in "The Art of War." It also reflects the principles of Deming's approach of total quality and principles of adult education. It is constructed as a dynamically stable system of human endeavors through interacting the synergy of safety, quality and environment management with personal total quality. The analogy is to a rotating wheel on an unmoving axle. It offers an answer to the need for both change and stability in today's rapidly changing world. Constructed on universal human principles, the model should have enormous potential for wide applications. A survey of a number of companies corroborated the validity of some of the model variables. The survey data was analyzed using the concept of signal-to-noise ratio. The model has yet to be tested by implementation.
