Various protection and deprotection schemes of hydroxylic and amino groups in carbohydrate molecules are explored. Several methods for removing methoxy benzylidine and benzylidine acetal protecting groups were examined. The use of silyl reagents and other protecting groups such as the anisyloxy methoxy group, benzyloxy carbonyl group, benzoate group and other glycosidic protecting groups aided in achieving selectivity between the amino and hydroxyl groups of the sacharides.;All the sugar residues, except the...
