Abstract/Summary:
This paper addresses the importance of an intentional program for providing pastoral care to cross-cultural workers in China. Although everyone may agree on the issue, it is in essence not so well implemented and practiced. Some experts in the field of intercultural studies would go a step further in stating that lack of it is one of the significant factors for the premature departure of cross-cultural workers.; The purpose of this thesis is accomplished primarily through library research related to pastoral care, generations of missionaries, China, missionary attrition, and spiritual formation. The other method relies on personal experience in the China context.; A well-structured program, of which mentoring should be an integral part, is vital and essential for success of cross-cultural workers in China. Some practical applications are presented for the China field to try out this program for good of members and OMF.
