The disciplines of science and theology were historically subsumed under philosophical inquiries. With the rise of modern science however, they have become distinct and have come into direct conflict, especially in the United States. Yet many scholars are searching for common ground between them that will contribute positively to the search for a global cosmology. Exemplars of these efforts can be found in the work of several associates of both the Discovery Institute, representing intelligent design positions, and the John Templeton Foundation, representing theistic evolutionary positions. This thesis argues that the concepts of conflation and consonance are important in interface between science and theology, and that process theology and scientific complexity, both important theories within the context of theistic evolution, show intriguing possibilities for productive dialogue. | Keywords/Search Tags: | Theology, Interface, Theistic | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
