| The purpose of this research project was to investigate the expectations that learners, faculty, administrators, librarians and instructional designers have of each other for library support and information literacy in distributed learning (DL) at Royal Roads University. The goal of the project was to identify needs of the people working and learning at Royal Roads University and suggest potential solutions to the sponsor, the library at Royal Roads University.; The research questions. In distributed learning at Royal Roads University, what expectations for library support and information literacy do librarians, instructional designers, instructors, administrators, and learners have of each other? The expectations between each group or within each group may be different. The goal of the research was to identify differences in expectations and identify gaps. How can the people designing and implementing distributed learning meet the expectations of the people accessing the library by distance? How can distance learners and faculty become information literate? How can the knowledge and expertise that the librarians have be built into course design and delivery?
