Abstract/Summary:
Through the years, Fort Worth has explored different means by which to sustain the vitality of the Central Business District (CBD). Many changes have occurred to change the face of the CBD such as street treatments and the revitalization of Main Street. As a result of this long standing emphasis on the Fort Worth CBD, several outstanding open spaces have appeared, designed by talented landscape architects and architects.;In order to ensure the quality and use of the current and future open spaces in the CBD, it is important to understand how the spaces are now being used in order to continue current use and encourage future use. Safety, parking, site amenities, shade, seating, plant materials and activities, are researched and documented. The results concerning how these spaces are being used are included to assist in the improvement of existing spaces and in the planning of future spaces.
