Abstract/Summary:
Organotellurium chemistry that deals with organotellurium compounds is one exciting and wide area providing many research and development opportunities. These compounds do not require specialized techniques for their synthesis. The application of these compounds became intensively attractive in organic synthesis due to their chemo, regio and stereo selectivity reactions.;Sonogashira cross coupling reaction is the coupling of terminal alkynes with alkenyl or aryl halides for the formation of aryl alkynes in the presence of a palladium catalyst, a base and CuI as co-catalyst.;Suzuki coupling reaction is the cross coupling of organ boranes with triflates or organic halides using palladium catalyst and a base. Suzuki coupling has its importance for synthesizing biaryl compounds because of the very mild conditions, availability, and stability of its reagents.;In our research, we carried out a novel Suzuki and Sonogashira coupling reaction using organotellurium compounds as the one of the substrates. Therefore, the symmetrical diaryl tellurides were performed Suzuki coupling with organoboronic acid in the presence of palladium catalyst, and KOH base under 120--140 °C/24 hours to yield unsymmetrical biaryl compounds. The products were purified by column chromatography and then characterized by 1H NMR and 13C NMR.;A variety of diaryl tellurium compounds were also proceeded Sonogashira coupling with terminal alkynes like phenyl acetylene, 1-hexyne, 1-octyne, 1-heptyne etc. in the presence of palladium catalyst, K2CO 3 and CuI as co catalyst under 100 °C for 24hrs to yield various coupling products. These coupling products were then characterized by 1H NMR and 13C NMR.
