| This study analyzes the staggered truss framing system and establishes an optimum range for its use. This is accomplished by developing a computer model for the system and analyzing the cost, measured in terms of material usage, of the staggered truss system at various building heights. The relative success of the system is measured against control design systems of similar buildings.; First, the staggered truss system is defined and described. Next, the design codes and loads are outlined and applied to the computer model developed in this study. Finally, the cost evaluation of the system is presented, followed by recommendations and conclusions. |
