Abstract/Summary:
Evangelism does not only mean spreading the gospel. It also includes bringing the person to truely know Christ, joining a church and becoming a Christian with a sense of responsibility. This thesis is a study of Taiwanese Church in North American focusing on mission strategy from the viewpoints of church growth, social study, and pastoral ministry. It aims to analyze the case of Evangelical Formosan Church that is one of the fastest growing Chinese Churches in North America and to propose a workable strategy to earn souls for Christ as responsible church members.; In this thesis, Church Growth Development Scale, three approaches to evangelism and four important facets of Church Growth Movement are employed to evaluate the past mission strategies used by Evangelical Formosan Church. The integrated analysis of evangelism, the body of Christ, church plainting and the work of the Holy Spirit of the EFC reveals the new characteristics of mission strategy to be followed by Taiwanese Church in North America.
