Active cyber defense to fight cybercrime

Active cyber defense is indispensable component in the technological environment for attainment of privacy. The growing importance of information technology (IT) has to introduction of serious threats towards digital networks. Cyber-attacks are continuously becoming attractive venture for the enemies of the state. The given capstone project will aimed at examining key active cyber defense measures that can be applied to tackle cybercrimes, to assess ethical standards should be maintained in active cyber defense and to determine how implementation of active cyber defense could improve cyber defense strategies in today's technology. The study used secondary data from academic libraries, such as EBSCOhost, Emerald, and ProQuest. The findings of the study revealed that active cyber defense measures, such as enhanced awareness, preparedness, and cooperation have a potential to mitigate cybercrimes. The findings also revealed that use of ethical standards in mitigating cybercrimes. Besides, only individuals who have are given authority should implement active cyber defense ethical standards. The study findings also revealed that active cyber defense facilitates improved cyber strategies. The improvement arises since active cyber defense presents necessary information that is required to develop cyber strategies. The researcher concluded that active cyber defense is effective in mitigating potential cybercrimes within the digital environment.
