Abstract/Summary:
There is a current lack of research regarding female police officers working undercover assignments, particularly in the vice arena. Little has been researched about the effects this career has on their attitudes concerning their male colleagues, and the males in their personal life. The purpose of this study was to gain knowledge of attitudinal changes that can occur given the unique circumstances of females working undercover in the vice sector. The study tested the following hypothesis: Female police officers who go undercover will have a significantly greater negative attitude toward men than female officers who have not worked undercover. As part of the scope of this study, the hypothesis provided information regarding the lasting effects of the attitudes of female undercover vice officers.
