Employment obstacles of education technologies that face female Saudi teachers of students with learning disabilities in Jeddah elementary school

The use of technology and teaching aids are necessary for teachers when instructing students with learning disabilities (LD). This is confirmed by Rule 98 of the Regulations of Special Education (2003), which states: institutions and programs of special education at the public schools should employ technology and computer programs for educational purposes, organization of work and documentation of data, information and evaluation results. After reading Saudi newspapers and the Saudi Department of Education website, the researcher noticed deficiencies in the use of technology in the educational sector. Further, the researcher perceived obstacles hindering female teachers of students with LD, from using such technology. Although the researcher thought that the Secretariat of Special Education has played an important role in the incorporation and employment of educational technology (ed tech) to serve the educational needs of female students with LD, the researcher found that practical application is not actually occurring as required. Hence, the problem of the study is that there are obstacles preventing female teachers from using educational technology in teaching female students with LD.
